Both of the cars have semi-slicks. The carrera has Pirelli Corsa´s and the 350z Yokohama´s Advan AD48.

Did both cars run on street tires? Sport-Cup?

I hardly hear any tire squeal, so i assume semi-slicks.

The 350Z drives a better line.

Pasi said all necessary and is 100% right but here are still a few words from me. You have to remember this was not a full speed maximum attack.

* The indicated top speeds of app. 200kmh at Schwedenkreutz and 190kmh at Fuchsröhre, just to mention two places, are rather “low” compared to the figures I have seen in my car (example: Schwedenkreutz top speed typically 250kmh at the top of the hill)

Fuchsröhre was sligtly wet and I hade to wait for the 350z so no point pushing full speed. 250kmh top speed in Schwdenkreutz is not typical for 300hp 996 Carrera - it`s impossible. Of course you can do it with your 415hp 997 GT3;)

* I would really like to hear constructive comments as 8:13 seems challenging based on my comments above.

8:13 lap time is not a challenge for this car. Theoretically it can do ~7:50 btg even driven by me. If you slow down 20-40kmh top speed for few hundred meters it really doesn`t make extra 20+ seconds to the lap time.

I can`t wait for the next year and enjoying the Nordschleife, that`s what it`s all about!:)

Ring is a very hard track for the gps receiver, so the signal has problems in few of the places. All 350z's sold in Finland are Pack models and the particular car is year 2004 which has had the whole exhaust, suspension, anti-roll bars, engine control system, intake, brakes and some exterior parts changed.

Wow, great lap, exellent footage! Would have like to have seen accurate speedo on the long straight though. What year is the Z? Must be a track model?

* Video clip of the data is might be slightly offset, but I do not see the 50 meters you talk about. to me it actually seems it's already past the gantry and the data clip start late at Bridge. 5hz GPS also has it's limitations.
* Satellite lost, lot's of trees at that point like you know. Personally I use PerformanceBox which you can see on my Z4 lap, it didn't loose the signal there. Taping the receiver to your roof might also help.
* Traffic at SX - Wet in Fuchsröhre, also Porsche was waiting for the Nissan on certain places, otherwise laptime would be faster. 250km/h gps speed at SX is very nice speed and would mean lot's of power, but you didn't mention your car so cannot comment on that.
* Hope these comments were constructive, our main goal with this video is to help people learn the track and enjoy them during the winter time. We are not trying to publish the best possible laptimes, since trying to achieve those during Turist Driving is not safe nor recommended. Please use private trackdays for time attacks.
* RaceChrono conversation should probably be taken at racechrono.com. But we are not racing here, so RC provides very cheap (free) way of getting data from your trackday laps. 234km/h on a street car is not unachievable, see this thread http://rejsa.nu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=53645 .

Cheers, and thanks for the constructive critic. Hope you have fun at the Ring and be safe :)

Nice footage and very smooth driving but I am slightly puzzled.
* how come the timing ends maybe some 50 meters before the gantry?
* Why is the speedometer showing like 30-50kmh on the uphill after Bergwerk?
* The indicated top speeds of app. 200kmh at Schwedenkreutz and 190kmh at Fuchsröhre, just to mention two places, are rather "low" compared to the figures I have seen in my car (example: Schwedenkreutz top speed typically 250kmh at the top of the hill)
* I would really like to hear constructive comments as 8:13 seems challenging based on my comments above.
* Is RaceChrono fully reliable? Last summer f. ex. it indicated 234kmh for me at Fuchsröhre which is unachievable for a street car, as far as I know

Excellent! Nice lap with prominent driving.

Very cool to see friends driving together without bigger traffic. The 8:13 is fast with these cars, when the Carrera starts driving 100% in the end of the lap it's fying! :)
