Track fever
For starters, I still have the 328i
The CupKit has been installed for six weeks now. I have driven the car in it’s current form on Ahvenisto and Kemora circuits, and it seems that there is still lots of work ahead in order to get the car to behave as I want. First of all, the stock anti-roll bars are absolutely not up to task on the track. It is very fustrating to drive 450km to a race track only to see there way too much roll!
To improve things, next purchase will be H&R adjustable ARBs. The car also needs new brake pads and disks. But that will have to wait until next summer. Also, it seems that the engine has some problems with oil circulation and temperature when driven hard at the track.
Nevertheless I timed 1:28.48 on a lap of Kemora, which is way better than my previous best 1:29.12 on my ex-330ci. It’s almost a second quicker with 38 less hp. Maybe with couple of mods more, and the car will be transformed to adequate track day tool!
Your standard carfreak. Never had a perfect car, probably never will. Allways in search for something new and more fun.
