2007 modifications
The season is halfway done, nothing major but the car is more enjoyable to drive! Puts smile to face
I have a small comment for every part…
- H&R front and rear stabilizers
(A noticeable difference in handling, can be recommended! btw. many suggests that adding only the rear stabilizer for 996TT is enough of improvement because it eliminates understeer)
- Black wheels
(Looks mean!!)
- Porsche Tequipment X54 tail pipes
(Always liked the look of four-tube exhaust pipes)
- Toyo R888 tires
(Grippy at track, noisy at the street)
- Removed rear wiper with a plug from BumperPlugs.com
(Looks better, and there’s no need for rear wiper, not even on the rain)
- Front brake upgrade with 996 GT2 6-pot calipers, 350 mm disks, Pagid Yellow racing pads, Fischer steel lines, GT3 Cup brake ducts
(Brakes are huge and good, I recommend especially the GT3 Cup brake ducts, they are much bigger than OEM. The OEM brakes have a lot of stopping power, so improving cooling is important)
- New windshield
(cracked because of a rock)
Coming Soon:
- Porsche Tequipment roll-over bar
- Six-point racing harness
- New wheels for either track or street (BBS Racing or Cargraphic are my favorites. Perhaps going to find those used somewhere. The lovely Techart Daytonas don’t fit with bigger brakes!)
Modifying and servicing sports cars isn’t always easy. So where to go?
I made a list of Finnish and German companies I can recommend.
The thanks goes to Auto Carrera, Aarnio Racing, Carnewal Europe, Manthey Racing, Orange Tuning, Puskan Auto, Ring-Racing and Tip Top Auto for their services with THE car!
ps. If you are interested in 4-pot Porsche Turbo calipers and 330mm used disks, write mail to kaizu@carfreaks.net, also the Techart Daytona wheels are for sale (light and rare), view the pics here: http://carfreaks.net/photos/summercruise/ and make me a reasonable offer
See you at the streets and track!
