White is the New Black

Finally the car is visually atleast at satisfactory level. Long nights and many new skills later this is now the stage where I’m with the M3.

Basically I got all the parts finally painted white. Some of the fiberglass parts I had to scrap and put in the OEM parts, these were the front bumper and trunk hood. The fiberglass one’s were just from so poor quality molds that I didn’t wan’t to make the sacrifice. The hood is also little poor fit, but it’s so light that I don’t want to change it back :) .

Interior got some carbon fibre trims and black grip tape to the floor instead of those OEM carpets. Light and functional, and black.

Tomorrow it’s time to track the car the 3rd time, this time I think I don’t have to worry about if it will stay in one piece and concentrate on the driving. I did some 1:37 laps a week ago and noticed huge understeer problems since I only have the stock camber in front and some pretty shitty Nokia tires. So I guess after summer holidays it’s time for some Toyo R888 and camber plates. Also the rear alignment is still way off, I haven’t gotten the car to a tire shop to do alignment, so after the installation of adjustable camber/toe they must be very very wrong. But I’m in no hurry, so this trackday will go with these. From now on it’s all about the laptimes :)

Here’s few more photos and better ones should be coming soon.

    WOW!

As some of the freaks have noticed, I have started to praise white color in cars. This looks absolutely stunning, cant believe how good an old car can look after a rebuild!

I’ll try to catch you on camera at our next track day :)

    I don’t know you, but I love E30 m3′s.. especially in White.

Absolute beauty this. Loved reading all of your entries on it, going to dominate when you bring it on the track!

Just wondering, what are the wheels? They really suit it.

One question.. ///M sport racing stripes a la http://www.bmwinfo.com/pictures/00150.jpg without the decals? That would top it off.

    Conratulations.

Hi george, the wheels are BMW OEM Style-5 2-piece wheels. I just polished the lips last winter and powder coated the centers with gold. Let’s see about the stickers, haven’t decided yet :)
