From dual to quad
Last year was a year of many mods for the Turbo so we won’t be buying anything huge this spring.
The tire (and brake!) bills are quite heavy already
But of course a carfreak has to do something every season!
This time I decided to get new exhaust pipes for VKT’s 996 Turbo.
The stock dual pipes weren’t looking that bad but I think the X54 four-tube sports tail pipes from Porsche Tequipment suit the car better. I’m talking only about the exhaust tail pipes (the TechArt exhaust itself won’t be changed) and from Porsche the price is so steep that you should almost get a whole new exhaust for the money. That’s why I decided to see if someone would sell these used.
Looking for the right deal didn’t took long, member silver from the famous 6speedonline.com forums got me a great deal. The tail pipes are the first used part the car gets but who cares? I think I played my cards right, the pipes were like new when silver from all the way Southeast USA sent them to me. I noticed from the stamps that the pipes are made by a familiar company, Eisenmann.
The installation was easy and fast (well, looking at the pic, maybe some fine adjusting must be done).
Now if you see this Turbo with the four-tube pipes, don’t worry, it has its exhaust on.
But if the same car lurks somewhere with only two oval end pipes, beware when the engine starts breathing, it has only straight pipes on
But let’s cut the talk, here’s the pics:

btw. Had some fun with friend’s new 997TT…but more of that later! Anyway see you all at the roads and tracks this year!
