"A friend of mine will be upgrading his 997 Turbo steel brakes (6-pot calipers with 350 mm disks) for the carbon version. Too bad the service manager of a local Porsche Centre just told today that the new Turbo brakes aren’t a straight bolt on for the older 996."

New information: The 997 Turbo brakes should be a direct bolt-on for the older 996 model! This is great for the 996 Turbo owners.

Good points Kaizu. A few comments based on my experience with the Pagid's in both track and road use with my Brembo's (I've got the RS29's).

With the Brembo's, I haven't noticed any excess wear on the discs. In fact, I measured the disc wear just about a month ago, having worn roughly half of the Pagid's at that point, and the discs had not worn almost at all. Which is nice. :)

I haven't had any issues with cold use either. In fact, pretty much everyone who has test driven the A3, has commented on how impressive the bite on the brakes is. And this has on regular roads, with cold to mid-warm brakes.

But I do agree on the squeaking part - these pads are not for those who prefer a noise free environment :)
