This video was recorded on a private track day at Nürburgring Nordschleife featuring totally empty track which was driven with Nissan GTR. Driver had to wait 2 hours at the parking lot and make just one lap with cold tires while the instructor was sitting next to him, not the easiest task!
Video is taken with multiple small HD cams and outside footage with Canon EOS 5D MkII, data for the video was takeng from RaceChrono and then used RaceChrono2Avi to build a video file of the speed, distance and laptime.

Alastaro 25th of July; Yet again the true freaks have gathered together to show their respect to the motor-racing. Semi-slicks changed, pressures checked and full tank of V-Power under, sounds like our convoy is once again ready to start it´s 150km b-route journey to Alastaro. The 3km long track has become the real home for the true Carfreaks appearance. It´s safety and lack of near by settlements are ideal for having some petrol head´s fun.
One of our photographers, Joonas, did an excellent job during our Carfreaks track day at Alastaro circuit. He demonstrates the video capturing capabilities of the Canon EOS 5D Mark II with the film ’A Day of Racing’.

Unlike the track event three weeks before, the second Carfreaks.net track day was blessed with a great weather. Some would even think of it as little too good for the circumstances.
The session gathered a big horde of eager Carfreaks around Finland and few even from abroad. Even though there was a lot of cars at the scene, the track had plenty of room to cruise around. This year one very positive sight could be seen at the track. It really is a new decade now: High power monsters have become very ordinary!

There is no blingbling nor glitter missing when you enter the huge halls of Dubai International Motor Show. This year was already the 10th time that the Motor show was organized and presentation on the carpet was magnificent. Car makers from new chinese comers to top tuners were showíng the best they have to offer. So forget the depression and check out the gallery for all the pictures. Read the rest of this entry »

Here is a nice lap from Nordschleife inside a tuned Nissan 350Z which is trying to keep up with tuned Porsche 996 Carrera. Porsche is driving fast but let’s the Nissan catch up on some of the long straights. Guys prove a nice 8:13 BTG laptime with passengers on this partly damp track after some afternoon rain. Again using RaceChrono2Avi for the data overlay and RaceChrono for the datacapture during driving, these tools we support! Enjoy!
Just a normal lap of the Nordschleife in a early Sunday morning. Still rubbing my eyes at Tiergarten after only being awake for 30min before the lap, shouldn’t miss morning coffee but what can you do. Example of a first lap of the day where even driving fast I’m not taking any chances at braking, before knowing if there are wet spots or fluids at the track. Few slower cars and one bike lead to lifting at places which would be flat, but better to be safe than sorry. Also there is a bunny at Aremberg running across the track
Car is G-Power supercharger powered BMW Z4 3.0i, with totally stock suspension and non-RFT street tires. Only other modifications are bigger E46 330ci brakes with Pagid RS-29 pads and some Motul RBF600 fluid.
Video is taken with Sony 1080i HDV cam, data for the video was takeng from Racelogic PerformanceBox, then using RaceChrono and RaceChrono2Avi to build a video file of the speed, distance and laptime.

Like most of the years now, we spent 2 weeks in the Eifel mountain village between 24.6.-6.7.2009. Most from the group travelled again from Finland via Finnlines ferry and some came from central Europe. Again we had rented our usual “Casa” and met there on Wednesday afternoon. Few cars went straight to our trusted garage at ProSport to have the regular brake and wheel stuff sorted before the evening’s TF time. Read the rest of this entry »
